Being A Leader With A Presidential Teleprompter

By Robert Ross

From the moment a person is born, they are expected to do certain things, to reach certain milestones. First of all, they are expected to cry out, because that crying out lets their parents and other assorted onlookers know that they are not in fact dead, that they did not enter the world having already left it. Some level of growing up is also expected of them. Now, that growing will entail the physical, mental, and emotional. It is also expected of them that they are then educated. They are also supposed to participate in local politics, and that should be done to a greater extent that just listening to some person on the television read some lines off of a presidential teleprompter.

Now, a president is the person who is ostensibly in charge of a country. They are typically seen as the leaders of their respective countries. Which makes them the face of that nation on a world stage.

A teleprompter is a screen. They are generally placed right next to a camera. Now, on that screen, there will be words that scroll by as the cameras roll. Those words will generally be a speech. Now, newscaster will make use of them as well in order to deliver the news to the public.

It is expected of the president to make a speech. That is because they are generally the most visible member of the government. Which means that they are the mouthpiece of the nation, or at least the figurehead. If there is information that is going to seriously impact national policy, then the citizenry would be right to expect it to come from the mouth of the leader of that country.

Teleprompters are needed because of one simple reason. The speeches that are written for the speaker are long. They can go on forever and forever, especially if it is a state of the nation address. Those things have to cover all sorts of topics and will take hours before the end can even be begun to be approached.

But there are some risks that come with using one. They are machines. As machines, they are vulnerable to being compromised. Now, if it gets compromised, then the reader can say something that would better left go unsaid, because then there would be a huge instance of embarrassment on the world stage. Or, it could be that the president says something provocative that results in war. Given the level of political power involved, saying the wrong thing could be catastrophic.

Using one should be easy enough. All that a person has to do is read one. The only thing that needs to be done with it is to program the speech in and then turn it on. Once that is done, all that it left is to hope for literacy on the part of the reader.

Now, it is important to have a speechwriter. This is because words will not put themselves together. There has to be a person who takes them together and then strings them into sentences, and then that person has to take those sentences and then hopefully form a coherent thought of some sort. Then a politician is supposed to read those sentences on live television. So it is important that the speechwriter be somewhat competent.

The thing about life is that it was supposed to be something that came with a lot of difficulty. It was supposed to be hard, quick, and painful. But humankind was so stubborn that it managed to get out of it.
